Nein!!!!!!
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Casino is FJ too!
Ich melde mich an als SS Kampfgruppen mensch.
Grrrr....
Andreas
Don't worry JH, - I'll be SS and the German OC1 too. While it will be fab if we can get a majority of FJ (the event concept being para vs para), SS and Heer are just as authentic to the scenario and will have no lesser part to play.
I'll be Heer for this, unless I can pick up a Jump Smock and skit lid before then, a trip to Sgt.Heide's shop of helmet before then I think
"Will you stop talking about the war!!"
"What, you started it!"
"We did NOT start it!"
"Yes you did, you invaded Poland..."
Count me in! Wooo Hooo!!! *image of a cowboy and a horse*
"Follow me, i'm lost too!"
By this stage of the war, FJ kit was extremely varied, with any of the below quite acceptable:
Green, splinter or tan/water smock, or "Luftwaffe FD" splinter jacket.
Gas mask tin or cloth holder
Jump boots, low boots or even jackboots
M38 or M35 helmet (LW blue). LW sidecap or ski cap acceptable (although helmets were much more common in combat)
K98 bandolier or leather K98 pouches, 3 or 6-mag MP40 pouches, G43 pouches (if anybody's got one!)
Therefore, if we put up a "kit available to borrow" thread (nearer the time!), I'm sure we could help a few to join the FJ contingent.

Yes indeed. In 'It never snows in September' it even describes the exact troops involved in the battle wearing such a mix. I'm going to see if I can find the film of it since it is referenced. Alot of the troops were also transfers and recent conscripts to the kit would likely be even more varied than that.
"The biggest mistake historians make is to glorify and narrow-mindedly concern themselves with Arnhem and Oosterbeek. The Allies were stopped in the south just north of Nijmegan - that is why Arnhem turned out as it did."

Just ordered it myself!
Expect this event to be realistic, gritty, demanding and totally free flowing.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
FJ for me...
All ready have all clear for the day....but no Yank kit, save a tin pot a thompson and a 42 dated canteen cup!
Could make for an interesting load out!-)
You can find that forum members can be incredibly generous when it comes to loaning kit. I'll have spare US line/glider infantry kit to spare if you, or anyone else should need it.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
I'll have spare M42's to fit a 6ft, 34 inch waist, 42-44 inch chest.

FJ for me...
of course tho' it might be nice to break out the dot pattern....so many choices!
I'm coming back from a tour of Egypt a week before then...are suntans acceptable or should I look for some paler skin?
Show me a man who will jump out of an airplane, and I'll show you a man who will fight!

No worries, we'll just call it burnt cork. Or assume you are of native American origin. Depending how you cook.

Oct '44 was the tailend of a reasonably warm and dry summer in NW Europe. Add to that the 82nd's work in Italy and North Africa and you could have an authentic skin tone.
82nd for me Been building up my Market Garden loadout for months now. Just a quick rebadge and i'm good to go.
